Our Programs at Wee Wons Daycare & Preschool
Infant Program (Ages 8 weeks - 12 months)
*only available at our Scotrun location
In our Infant Program, the day is tailored to each baby’s schedule and developmental needs. Activities include sensory play, such as exploring different textures and sounds, storytime for early language development, and tummy time for physical growth. Gentle routines for feeding and napping are established to provide a sense of security. Each day, infants are engaged in activities that stimulate their senses and promote cognitive and motor skills development.
Toddler Program (Ages 12 - 36 months):
Toddlers at Wee Wons enjoy a mix of structured and free play activities. A typical day includes interactive circle times where toddlers learn basic concepts like shapes and colors, art and music sessions to spark creativity, and outdoor play for physical development. Practical life skills are also a focus, with activities like self-feeding and basic hygiene. Language development is encouraged through storytelling, singing, and simple group discussions.
Preschool Program (Ages 3 – 5)
Preschoolers at Wee Wons are immersed in a more structured curriculum, balanced with ample playtime. Their day includes hands-on learning in math, where they count, recognize patterns, and explore shapes. Reading time is dedicated to storytelling and basic literacy skills. Creative arts are incorporated to enhance fine motor skills and self-expression. Social skills are nurtured through group activities, where children learn about cooperation, sharing, and respecting others.
School Age Program (Grades K-6)
*only available at our Pocono Pines location
Our School Age Program is tailored to complement the school day. Before school, children can engage in quiet activities or finish up homework. After school, they participate in a variety of activities, including sports, arts and crafts, and group games. Homework assistance is provided to ensure children keep up with their schoolwork. During holidays and summer breaks, the program offers thematic activities, field trips, and special projects to keep children engaged and learning.
Pre-K Counts (Ages 3-5):
*only available at our Pocono Pines location
The Pre-K Counts curriculum is rich and varied, preparing children for the academic and social aspects of kindergarten. Daily activities include interactive reading sessions, where children learn letter recognition and phonetic sounds. Math activities involve counting, sorting, and simple arithmetic. Social studies explore topics like family, community, and nature. Art, music, and physical education are also integral parts of the day, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience.
